Although I can be inspired for a new painting because of some photograph, however, what is most expressive in my paintings is when I personally experience some scenery. How different are the paintings that were created as a direct result of my encounter with the mountain! Velebit, Paklenica National Park has very deep rifts, canyons (Velika and Mala Paklenica), which are so impressive that they wear expressive and dynamic colors on my painting .

I used a daylight to re-photograph yesterday’s painting and here it is.

Velebit is the largest mountain in Croatia and is a part of a bigger mountain chain of Dinarides stretching form the Alps, across Croatia... The mountain is approximately 145 km long, its width varying form 30 km at the northern parts to 10 km at its southern parts. On its western parts, Velebit Mountain chain raises sharply from the sea, dominating over the landscape. Towards the east, its slopes descend more mildly into the plateau of Lika, situated between 425 and 600 meters above the sea level. The highest peak of the Velebit Mountain is Vaganski vrh (1757 m a. s. l.) in Paklenica National Park. more on the UNESCO' s list

Yesterday, we were short on the Velebit mountain. I am full of impressions, regardless of fatigue, and today a full day of obligation (except for church and ministry, today was election day) it had to come out in the form of painting. Given the darkness and fatigue, tomorrow I will re-photograph the finished painting and upload it as a new post.
