THREE MOUNTAIN VALLEYS - Croatian Artist Lidija Ivanek (SiLa)

When photographer meets painter.
Photographs are not finished until they are printed.
I've printed two winter scenes on canvas sheets from Hahnemühle. Printed on such a way they become more like paintings. I painted a black and white winter scene with acrylic paint on an artistic matte paper.
All artwork I've scanned and posted on both my blogs.
So, finally my painter side meets my photographer side. ;)

Some paintings that I do, I've finished in two hours, but some after two years.
Todays painting was half done and for two years I didn't know what is wrong with it, why I have that “undone” feeling about it. Then, while I was watching this movie on YouTube...

...I realized what was missing in my painting.

The Son of God will be destroyed (or killed) by his own hand on a cross.

I am such a helpless creature, sensitive to any change in weather. When the south wind starts, when the weather stirs, every vein of my body feels so small and helpless, I am a wretched woman in the hand of the Mighty God.

Practice, practice, practice.
Is there a time when we can say; "Well, I finished such good artworks, now I can rest"?
I think not.
The talent is from God, but the work and the practice is ours to be perfected.
Without the practice the talent lies dormant and vice versa, the practice cannot take the place of the talent.
It is the practice that makes the talent live. Its the practice that gets ride of the imperfections and mistakes.
